Toilet paper industry consumes a lot of energy and contributed to more global and local environmental problems than any other industry, according to the Natural Resources Defense Council. To reduce the negative environmental impact of the industry, we can consumer toilet paper made from recycled materials which uses less trees, water and oil. However, recycled toilet paper accounts for a fraction of current global retail market of toilet paper. Who Gives a Crap offers 100% recycled toilet paper as well as one made with bamboo. The company is also committed to its social mission; to help improve sanitation infrastructure around the world by giving 50% of its profit.
Who Gives a Crap started as an Indiegogo campaign in July 2012 by co-founders who had all worked in nonprofits before. This put social mission at its core to deliver profit to donate to improve sanitation infrastructure around the world.
